About Buddy's - Staff

Buddy Poe, Sr.

Owner/President

Buddy is a true pioneer in the swimming pool industry. His career spans almost 50 years back to 1962 when first began working in the swimming pool division of Ira C. Rigger. With approximately 18 years of experience he founded Buddy’s Pool Service, Inc. in 1979 with his wife Loretta Poe. If you are looking to have a new pool constructed, you will be hard-pressed to find a more experienced contractor. When Buddy is not hard at work he enjoys traveling, animal watching and outdoor adventures.

Owner/Secretary-Treasurer

Loretta is not only Buddy’s wife, but business partner as well. She ran the back office while also launching a successful venture into the swimming pool retail arena. Over the years the retail operation has expanded several times under her stewardship. Loretta has attended over 30 seminars on advanced water chemistry and thrives on helping customer achieve brilliant and inviting water. If you ask Loretta what she loves the most the answer will most likely be summed up in one word - “Family”. This not only includes immediate relatives, but those relationships that have been built through the business as well.

Vice President

Shortly after serving our country in the US Army, Buddy Jr. joined the company as a full time employee in 1984. Tile & coping replacement and resurfacing are Buddy Jr.’s specialty, but with his vast background in service and construction he can tackle just about any renovation job. As an avid Baltimore Ravens fan, his other true passion lies in following professional sports and playing an occasional round of golf.
